Carpet Flooring Centre, formerly known as Classic Carpets, has a rich history and a strong presence in the flooring trade. Based in Hamilton, we originally operated out of a unit before moving to a prominent shop front on Portland Place, right in the heart of Hamilton. Our journey has been one of growth, evolution and unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, for both commercial and domestic properties.
Our Story
Meet James Farrell, Founder and Director of Carpet Flooring Centre
James Farrell, the heart and soul of Carpet Flooring Centre, brings over 35 years of experience to the table. James' journey in the flooring industry began at the tender age of 14, working alongside his father, James Farrell Senior, during weekends and late nights. The Farrell family has deep roots in entrepreneurship and trades, with a legacy of owning and operating businesses in shops, furniture and flooring.
With a natural talent for the trade and a drive to carve out his own niche, James secured his first commercial contract as a self-employed tradesman with JCM, a joinery, construction and maintenance company. His career flourished as he freelanced under James Farrell Floor Coverings, working with renowned companies such as J&W Carpets, Carpet Right and Maryhill Carpets as well as JCM. He has completed numerous commercial projects, including installations for Clydesdale Bank, Wetherspoon’s, Holiday Inn hotels and various nursing homes.
Our Transition & Vision
As James transitioned from a traditional retail model, he harnessed his unique relationships with wholesale suppliers to create Carpet Flooring Centre. This shift allows us to offer clients access to top-quality flooring products at unbeatable prices.
James' extensive experience in fitting, supplying and management allows him to easily connect each aspect of the industry to complete the job seamlessly, benefiting our customers with the best products, prices and fitting services.
